The SUS and the Brazilian`s right to health: a reading of its foundations, with emphasis in the universality of coverage

Abstract

This article discusses the issue of access to health services in Brazil, with emphasis on the universality of the assistance. It discusses the concepts of justice and health. It provides a brief discussion on health systems in the United States of America, France, England and Canada; conducts an
assessment of the Brazilian U n i f i e d Health System - SUS in their public and private aspects, and it describes the role of medical councils and medical institutions in ensuring access to health services.
