Abstract

In this paper we discuss particular aspects of the medical care of adolescents, taking into account their particular vulnerability in the social environment they live in and keeping in mind that, through their gradual maturity, they tend to exercise their autonomy in a growing series of
independent actions that include the development of sexuality. With this understanding, we will reflect on the ethical aspects of emergency contraception, taking into consideration epidemiological aspects of unplanned pregnancy in the light of traditional principles of bioethics,
including the provision of such a resource by the government.
